How diet is associated with
As cats evolve, their nutritional needs change. While
kittens require a lot of protein-rich diets, adult cats don’t require the same
amount of protein. In fact, excess protein intake in senior cats may lead to
kidney and liver damage.
For cats of every age, there is a particular diet that
should be given to them. Usually, kitten formula and adult cat formula consists
of different ingredients and nutrients. Thus, it is important to keep in mind
which stage of life a cat is in.
Cats
and kittens can catch food allergies pretty easy. If you think your cat is
suffering from any kind of allergy because of his food, take him to the vet.
Your cat may have trouble digesting a particular food, troubled breathing or
itchiness if he is sensitive to his diet. Even if your cat enjoys a specific
food for years, he may develop an allergic reaction later on. In a case of food
allergy, it is advised to make changes in the cat’s diet. Some vets may suggest
offering new meat to the cat that he may have never tasted before.
